Dream Looks From Milan Fashion Week

By: Kati Clarke

As we've reached the third stop of fashion month in Milan, I have been keeping my eyes all of the top Fall/Winter 2018 ready-to-wear collections as they strut down the runways. Milan is my absolute favorite week of fashion month. The designs, patterns, prints and luxe fabrics never disappoint and always deliver in bold, fresh ways. Here are my top four runway show picks from Milan!

This collection definitely brought all of the urban femininity vibes with a slight outdoor edge to it. It's all about structure and the shoulders. This collection is one of my absolute favorites because of the combination of softness and strength that the garments deliver. Each look was so carefully constructed, and it truly shows within every detail. From the playfulness of the way the Fendi logo was scattered over the boots to fur sweatshirts and flocked trench coats with baguette bags, this collection definitely offers up chic and universally flattering pieces.

Max Mara
Max Mara always delivers such cozy and unforgettable collections. The roundup of looks included animal prints, slick black leather, English tweed, oversized trenches and one of the most coveted wardrobe staples this season - blazers. Stirrup pants along with narrow trousers were also included in the season''s get ups. When I think of Max Mara, one word always comes to mind: fabric. This collection made me feel as though I was watching miles and miles of plush and luxe fabrics pillowing down the runway. As far as coats go, there were teddy bear coats, military maxis, an animal print raincoat and a duffel for the win.

Alberta Ferretti
This was one show that truly left me drooling because I am such a fabric and layer fanatic. One great aspect about this collection was the 80s vibes that it delivered. From big shoulders to high waisted garments, this collection is most definitely one that I will be taking inspiration from this season. Ferretti designed her collection around putting women in the center of her world. This collection delivered bold and fierce vibes that are both authentic and inspiring.

Luisa Beccaria
Throughout the seasons, Luisa Beccaria delivers a vision of the Italian good life. Embroidered lace and hand-painted velvet were two elements from this collection that I absolutely adored. There were large doses of billowy-sleeved, floaty dresses presented. White watching this show, I felt as if I was watching guests arriving to an opulent wedding in the country. Beccaria placed a large emphasis on daywear in this collection. There was a playful vibe to each and every look, as well as a touch of sophistication that makes me want to get my hands on every piece!

Milan Fashion Week never disappoints when it comes to fresh trends, sleek styles and eye-catching fabrics. What were some of your favorite collections at MFW?
