28 year old French Simon Porte Jacquemus took the world by storm with his 2018 collections, spring and fall.

The self-taught designer had little to no fashion education. Having quit the fashion school École Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode a month in due to personal reasons, his start in fashion was working at a Comme des Garçon store to help fund his eponymous brand.

Growing up in a village located in the South of France, the designer has a different approach towards French fashion and the highly appreciated French simplicity and chicness. He took the typical Parisian style and added his own southern twist, giving us French style like we've never seen before.

No matter what season he was designing for, he did not once let go of his breezy, summery aesthetic, which he has grown to be known for along with several of his signature pieces.

The designer's sudden wave of attention and popularity is the result of years of hard work under the radar and risky pieces that have gone viral. From massive straw hats to miniature colorful handbags, Jacquemus has managed to associate his brand with some of the most iconic pieces of our current time.

Playing with asymmetric silhouettes and geometric shapes, the designer has managed to give a new life to minimalism. Each piece sent down Jacquemus' runway has a certain easiness and effortlessness to it, yet is completely breathtaking with its unmatchable beauty.

Colorful mismatched heels and earrings have become another one of his many statement pieces, which is how his love for geometric shapes shines most prominently.

Our extreme fascination with Jacquemus and his unique take on fashion and style, drove our expectations for his debut menswear collection very high. The collection did not live up to the expectations we all had, as it did not reflect Jacquemus as a designer like his previous collections did.

His menswear collection reflected Jacquemus' stylish fun personality, which was mostly shown in his selection of the location, his hometown Marseille, in which the show was held, where models walked down the runway.

Slowly but surely, Jacquemus is becoming a household name. A-listers are rocking his pieces within their large variety and the general public is swooning over his distinctive aesthetics.

Paris fashion week is right around the corner and Jacquemus' collections is going to be upon the first to strut down the runway. We cannot wait to see what he has in store for us!
