The Best of the 2018 Fashion Awards

Last night, the fashion community gathered at London's Royal Albert Hall for the annual Fashion Awards. Comedian Jack Whitehall and model Alex Wek hosted the event, which was sponsored by Swarovski.

The British Designer of the Year Womenswear award was given to Claire Waight Keller for her work at Givenchy. Keller is the first women to head the house of Givenchy and was presented with the award by the Duchess of Sussex herself, Meghan Markle, whose wedding dress was designed by Keller.

As for the Outstanding Achievement award, Miuccia Prada was for her work as "an incredible design maverick and for spearheading the evolution of the Prada group from a family business to a global brand," as put by Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council.

Model of the Year went to Kaia Gerber who, at 17, is the youngest recipient of the award so far. The young model thanked her family for supporting her throughout her journey in the industry in her acceptance speech.

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were given the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator for their work collaborating with brands such as Calvin Klein, Givenchy and Miu Miu.
