3 Trends to Ditch in 2019

By: India Roby

From dad sneakers to the Parisian look, 2018 was filled with never-ending fashion trends. While there were some things that we absolutely obsessed over throughout the year, there were also fashion fads that need to stay in 2018. Here's what you need to ditch to start the new year with a clean slate.

1. Logo Overload
Gucci, Fendi, Balenciaga - the list goes on. This year, "clout" was more important than style, and not even Bella Hadid can make this fashion. The "logo overload" was the most sought-after trend in 2018, and designers made sure to profit from it. However, it quickly led to people purchasing designer items to showcase the logo, not to admire the vision behind it. In 2019, let's invest in quality, timeless pieces that doesn't have an expiration date.

2. Teddy Coats
The teddy coat is another fashion piece that was ruined this year. I AM GIA's Pixie Coat was on my MUST-HAVE list at the end of 2017. By the time I was ready to make my purchase, I noticed every influencer and youtuber had this jacket, and I decided it was not worth the $80 I was about to drop. This coat is cute and comfortable, but it's about time we find another jacket to obsess over.

3. Biker Shorts
Fashion meets athleticism gone wrong? Started by Kim Kardashian, the biker shorts trend became all-the-hype on social media, but it only lasts so long before it gets repetitive. While some people love Kim K's athletic vibes, others found it unappealing and tacky. We definitely have a love-hate relationship with this trend, but let's leave it in 2018.
