What You Need To Know About ARISE Fashion Week

Africa's most exciting runway, ARISE Fashion Week is set to make its grand return on April 19th - 22nd 2019 at the Lagos Continental, Victoria Island. ARISE, which is short for 'Africa Rising', helped put Nigeria on the international fashion map by exhibiting and boosting African designers on runways around the world.

It is one of the biggest runway shows in Nigeria and gives designers from over 15 countries a global platform to showcase their collections. Acclaimed designers such as Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Kenneth Ize, Ozwald Boateng, Thebe Magugu and Washington Roberts are among some of the talented designers that have shown their collections on its runways with the help of top models like Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi and Liya Kebede.

Last year's show was an overflow of fun performances, supermodel power, talented designers and memorable fashion moments. Quiteria & George, Kenneth Zoe, Tiffany Amber, Mao Atafo, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Mustafa Hassanali and Orapeleng Modutle are just some of the 45 designers whose collections were showcased.

There were a lot of clean lines, sheer, bold colors and prints displayed in a fusion of traditional elements from diverse cultures with modern and edgy designs.

An array of celebrities made their runway debut like Richard Mofe Damijo for Taryor Gabriels, Eku Edewor for Tsemaye Binitie and Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi for FIA.

This year's show will be hosted by Naomi Campbell and includes designers like Odio Mimonet, Esteban Cortazar, Bridget Awosika, Pyer Moss, Loza Maleombho, Maxhosa, Deola Sagoe, Triple RRR by Robert Cavalli and many more with illustrious guests like Liya Kebede, Edward Enninful and Andre Leon Talley.
