3 Goals to Accomplish Before Summer Ends

By: Salma Ahmed

With fall quickly approaching and 2019 coming to a speedy end, it is the perfect time to take a second and reflect on what we’ve accomplished this year so far and what we plan to accomplish in the coming months.

Here are a few goals you might want to keep in mind as 2020 approaches.

1. Take a step towards a more sustainable lifestyle

With the increasing awareness towards the environment and all the harm that is being done to mother Earth regularly, the amount of alternatives to single-use plastic products make it easy to change. Discard plastic water bottles for reusable stainless steel, trade plastic straws for reusable ones and plastic grocery bags for mesh bags that not only prevent the negative impact of plastic bags but also look ten times more stylish with any outfit. Another way to live more environmental friendly is by limiting purchases from fast fashion brands. Fast fashion is linked to major negative environment impacts, water pollution and the use of toxic chemicals. Try thrift shopping, investing in ethically made pieces or getting your clothes made by a tailor.

2. Get a head start on your fall wardrobe

The second the first gust of wind hits we start daydreaming of all of our favorite fall outfits. To make those daydreams a reality, start thinking of the items that are missing from your fall wardrobe and purchase them throughout an extended period. If you already own all the essentials needed, start scouting for ways to spice up your regular fall look.

3. Prioritize your mental well-being

Summertime can allow us to detach from reality for a brief moment and take time for ourselves, but unfortunately that is not always the case. Many experience hectic summers with almost no seconds to spare and therefore miss the chance to check in with themselves. That’s why the rest of the summer should be an opportunity to prioritize your mental well-being. Cancel plans to spend time with yourself or ask for an extension on a deadline to treat yourself for brunch. It could also be as simple as simple as taking a few minutes before starting your day to do some yoga and meditate.

The summertime will be over before we know it and soon enough we will be prepping for the holidays season. Setting small, realistic goals is the best way to accomplish somethingmeaningful.
