Ralph & Russo Brings Miami Beach to PFW

By: Valeria Ramos

In designing Ralph & Russo’s Spring 2020 collection, Tamara Ralph was inspired by the tropical glamour of Miami. Ralph told WWD she was channeling “Miami Beach, a kind of fresh Seventies feel.”

The Miami Beach vibe was captured not only in the collection but also in the setting, as the show was held on a Barbie-pink stage complete with palm trees.

A flurry of pastel, tie-dye, and chic ensembles came down Ralph’s runway at Paris Fashion Week, adorned in eye-catching accessories.

From luxe dresses paired with fluffy slides to blazers paired with sneakers, it was clear this collection was made for women who wear their clothes and not the other way around.

The casual air to Ralph’s glamorous looks conveyed a 70s era inspiration. The style of the 70s was characterized by free-spirit, bohemian looks with Ralph’s modern, ready-to-wear twist.

One trend from this collection we think will take off is the oversized sunglasses with chains sported by many of the models in the show. This statement accessory could be on track to replace the tiny sunglasses craze of last season.

Here are some of our favorite looks from Ralph & Russo’s Spring 2020 collection:
